First-year housing
All WashU first-year students live on campus. As a first-year, you’ll get to live in one of 10 residential communities on a part of campus we call the “South 40”.
Sophomore housing
Most sophomores will continue living on the South 40. Some will move to the Northside, while some opt for Special Interest Housing such as our Living Learning Communities (LLCs) or Chapter Housing with a Fraternity.
Upper division housing
Many of our upper-division (juniors and seniors) students live in our on-campus apartments which are located on the Northwest corner of the Danforth Campus and in our off-campus apartments located in neighborhoods near campus, each of which provides a variety of programs and amenities for students to enjoy.
Special interest communities
We are home to both Living Learning Communities (LLC) and Chapter Housing options for students.
Gender-inclusive housing
Residential Life makes housing assignments by matching students who share the same assigned sex at birth and by reviewing roommate preference questions provided in the housing application.
Non-university housing options
Residential Life and WashU are committed to supporting our students, non-students, and the permanent residents that live in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Summer housing
WashU has many summer housing options for interns, researchers, and summer school students.
