Dauten Hall

Carl Dauten House, a four-story residential hall, was dedicated on the Danforth Campus of WashU in November of 1976 for Carl Dauten.

Carl Dauten earned his AB, MA, and PhD from WashU. He served as a professor of finance and banking at the WashU School of Business and Public Administration. His administrative services at WashU included vice chancellor for administration, vice chancellor and associate provost, and executive vice chancellor. Outside the university, Dauten served as chairman of the Board of Directors of Concordia Publishing House, was the Journal of Finance associate editor, and wrote several books, some of which served as texts for college business courses. Dauten was also a member of several honorary societies.

Dauten Hall consists of traditional six-person suites each having its own bathroom. Each student will have a: XL twin bed frame and accompanying mattress; a three drawer dresser; and a computer desk and chair. The suite is carpeted and a shower curtain is provided.

JKL provides a kitchen on the main floor of Dauten Hall, has available music practice rooms, study spaces, a main computer lab, laundry facilities, and spacious common spaces. Students will be responsible for providing their personal items and toiletries.
